Gino França charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gino França the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th minute, Gino França hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Luiz Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otávio Botelho in the 7th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliseu Lara got free with Pedro Luiz Teles in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 13 played minutes jiraya MZC got a freekick which was hit by Arthur Valadares. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by jiraya MZC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tostão Hermes was slow to take the kick. During this time Docimhas's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Tostão Hermes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but jiraya MZC's Tião Damião did a great save. Celso Souto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Tião Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eliseu Lara struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Pedro Luiz Teles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for jiraya MZC. A hard shot 24 in the game by Eliseu Lara from a close distance when the talented Pedro Luiz Teles managed to make a qualified save. Docimhas's players were relieved. Eliseu Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Pedro Luiz Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the game, Otávio Botelho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pedro Luiz Teles. Otávio Botelho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 33 minutes into the game, Haroldo Macedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. jiraya MZC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Docimhas the free kick. In the 33rd match minute, jiraya MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Macedo to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the game, Celso Souto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Tião Damião was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 41 minutes, Humberto Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Docimhas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto Matorin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tião Damião showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Souto in the 43rd minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Otávio Botelho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Humberto Matorin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 58thth minute tested the skills of Tião Damião when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Celso Souto hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. If Eliseu Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedro Luiz Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otávio Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Docimhas's Pedro Luiz Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseu Lara in the 71st minute of play. In the 77th minute, Roberto Maciel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Eliseu Lara came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the jiraya MZC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseu Lara couldn't finish the play. After 81 played minutes jiraya MZC got a freekick which was hit by Arthur Valadares. In the 81st minute, Tostão Hermes fired a really elegant long shot, but Tião Damião threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Celso Souto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tião Damião read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Pedro Luiz Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseu Lara in the 88th minute of play. Humberto Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Souto in the 93rd minute of play forced jiraya MZC's goalkeeper Tião Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
