The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benjamim Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedê Ceresso in the 4th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Tadeu Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Gallinero's supporters rose to their feet, but Tadeu Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Fabiano Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bruninho Berger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Fabiano Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmílson Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Luís Fabiano Toledo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tadeu Lima's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute, Tadeu Lima left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El Gallinero fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. El Gallinero's Benjamim Freire proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save El Gallinero from getting a goal against them. 35 minutes into the match, Pimenteiras FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tadeu Lima came free, but Luís Fabiano Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Edmílson Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tadeu Lima struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Luís Fabiano Toledo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Gallinero. If Edmílson Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, El Gallinero's Tadeu Lima sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luís Fabiano Toledo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luís Fabiano Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeu Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cipriano da Silveira during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 48th match minute, Pimenteiras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cipriano da Silveira to maneuver through the defense. After 49 played minutes El Gallinero got a freekick which was hit by Tadeu Lima.

After a rather tough play, Pimenteiras FC's Raúl Cearense got a free kick in the 53rd minute. When the match had been going on for 57 minutes Bruninho Berger shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Luís Fabiano Toledo when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. Tadeu Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tadeu Lima who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Luís Fabiano Toledo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Magno Ramalho charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Magno Ramalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 71st match minute, El Gallinero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Magno Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the game, Pimenteiras FC's Jeremias Tasso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benjamim Freire made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 82nd minute, Dedê Ceresso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benjamim Freire was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Tadeu Lima in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luís Fabiano Toledo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Juninho Esteves took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Luís Fabiano Toledo to make any attempt to save it. When Tadeu Lima came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the El Gallinero fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadeu Lima couldn't finish the play. The supporters of El Gallinero booed when Pimenteiras FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Pimenteiras FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. El Gallinero were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
