In the 3rd match minute, Centauros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute Severino Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruno de Toledo was shown his second yellow card after 7 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Centauros getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Bruno de Toledo hit a great ball. In the 10th match minute, Centauros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diamantino Mazza to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute Caio Vides shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Barbosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valdomiro Zonta went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 19 minutes, Dráusio Carvalho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sapesal and the Centauros players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 19 played minutes Sapesal got a freekick which was hit by Dráusio Carvalho. After a defensive mix-up in Centauros's zone, Severino Santana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Barbosa came out of the goal and Severino Santana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sapesal's Inácio de Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Centauros's zone, Valdomiro Zonta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Barbosa came out of the goal and Valdomiro Zonta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Horácio Santana hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute Caio Vides shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Centauros's Diego Palmeira came free and shot a quick shot against goal 34 minutes in the game, fortunately Kléberson Castro had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Miguel Barbosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Caio Vides went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diego Palmeira made a kick off. Diamantino Mazza kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. If Severino Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Caio Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Caio Vides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Barbosa having to interfere. When Horácio Santana fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Centauros's protests and gave Horácio Santana a yellow card for diving instead. With his leg Miguel Barbosa managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when Sapesal's Valdomiro Zonta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some careless play in the Centauros defense, Dráusio Carvalho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miguel Barbosa. The Centauros fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miguel Barbosa should have stopped the shot. Severino Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Barbosa having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdomiro Zonta in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Miguel Barbosa saved Centauros from getting behind. Caio Vides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 83 minutes into the game, Valdomiro Zonta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Miguel Barbosa. Valdomiro Zonta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. After 87 played minutes Sapesal got a freekick which was hit by Dráusio da Silva. 88 minutes into the match, Centauros's Juninho Dias broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Jorge França managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sapesal's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge França was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miguel Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dráusio Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Barbosa having to interfere. Miguel Barbosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Severino Santana went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score.
