An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Koehler in the 4th minute of play forced Vila Velha's goalkeeper Wellington Tande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Jorginho Falcão fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poa Zna Leste's protests and gave Jorginho Falcão a yellow card for diving instead. Jorginho Falcão hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 9th of the match, Dagoberto Zanette tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Juan Aguiar got in the way and made a wonderful save. Edgar Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edgar Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wellington Tande having to interfere. The supporters of Poa Zna Leste booed when Vila Velha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cléber Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Vila Velha's zone, Danilo Koehler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wellington Tande came out of the goal and Danilo Koehler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorginho Falcão got his second yellow card in the match during the 21st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Poa Zna Leste's Juan Aguiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dagoberto Zanette in the 25th minute of play. Poa Zna Leste's Edgar Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Edgar Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Poa Zna Leste fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgar Sousa couldn't finish the play. After having played for 35 minutes, Dagoberto Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vila Velha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dagoberto Zanette was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the game, Dida Ferreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Juan Aguiar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 42nd minute, Jardel Félix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute of the match Bernardo do Nascimento shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juan Aguiar showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Dagoberto Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vila Velha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dagoberto Zanette was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 46 played minutes Poa Zna Leste got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Koehler. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dagoberto Zanette made a kick off. Bernardo do Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Chiquinho Saldanha hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Edgar Sousa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Wellington Tande made a huge save. In the 78th minute, Danilo Koehler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 80 in the game by Edgar Sousa from a close distance when the talented Wellington Tande managed to make a qualified save. Vila Velha's players were relieved. Edgar Sousa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wellington Tande having to make a save. Jardel Félix kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Chiquinho Saldanha kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. If Edgar Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lauro Arruda struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Juan Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vila Velha. In the 97th minute, Dagoberto Zanette hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle, Vila Velha could leave the field as winners, despite Poa Zna Leste having more of the ball for most of the match.
