But to his dismay, Miguel Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 42 minutes into the game, Vicente Dantas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kléberson Castro. Vicente Dantas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernardinho Maranhense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kléberson Castro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardinho Maranhense's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. In the 96th minute, Triumfo SS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Valdomiro Zonta fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Sapesal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
