Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bernardinho Maranhense started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 2nd match minute, El Gallinero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Célio Paranaense to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th minute, one of Triumfo SS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Triumfo SS. Júnior Costa placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Vicente Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Benjamim Freire tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Vicente Dantas came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Triumfo SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Dantas couldn't finish the play. Magno Ramalho charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Magno Ramalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 24th minute, Pedrinho Toledo had to leave the field with a concussion. After a rather tough play, El Gallinero's Bruninho Berger got a free kick in the 25th minute. El Gallinero's Edmílson Esteves got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edmílson Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 40 minutes, Vicente Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Triumfo SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Dantas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute, Bernardinho Maranhense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmílson Esteves was the one to do the kick off. Benjamim Freire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardinho Maranhense in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Edmílson Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Gallinero's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmílson Esteves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Francisco Chaves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tadeu Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Francisco Chaves having to interfere. Triumfo SS's João Francisco Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmílson Esteves in the 67th minute of play. Vicente Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Benjamim Freire tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Edmílson Esteves took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for João Francisco Chaves to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in Triumfo SS's zone, Tadeu Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Francisco Chaves came out of the goal and Tadeu Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 79 played minutes El Gallinero got a freekick which was hit by Bruninho Berger. Tostão Tróia, 83 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Júnior Costa fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Gallinero's protests and gave Júnior Costa a yellow card for diving instead. Júnior Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 88th minute Vicente Dantas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamim Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. El Gallinero's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
