In the 10th minute João Vítor Peres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adilson Munhoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the game, Thomás Viana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Divisopolis SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UBERABA SPORT CLUB the free kick. After a rather tough play, Divisopolis SC's Thomás Viana got a free kick in the 16th minute. Válbson Mello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Alberto Pinho made a huge save. Adilson Munhoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Vítor Peres in the 20th minute of play. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 0-1 when João Vítor Peres sped through UBERABA SPORT CLUB's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Adilson Munhoz. Luiz Figueiredo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 31st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Alberto Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Eduardo Lopez in the 33rd minute of play. If Luiz Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Giuseppe Moreira charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Giuseppe Moreira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 41st match minute, Divisopolis SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Moreira to maneuver through the defense. Alberto Pinho made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Luiz Figueiredo sent off a good shot on target. Alberto Pinho was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Sebastião Moreira.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Eduardo Lopez to make the kick off. The supporters of UBERABA SPORT CLUB booed when Divisopolis SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Percy Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Divisopolis SC's goalkeeper Alberto Pinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luís Eduardo Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Alberto Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute, João Vítor Peres ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adilson Munhoz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Faustão Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Divisopolis SC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Giuseppe Moreira hit a great ball. Faustão Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adilson Munhoz having to interfere. Conrado de Andrade's late challenge caught a Divisopolis SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Conrado de Andrade helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Divisopolis SC's Thomás Viana got a free kick in the 84th minute. After having played for 86 minutes, Luís Eduardo Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UBERABA SPORT CLUB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Eduardo Lopez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th match minute, Divisopolis SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomás Viana to maneuver through the defense. UBERABA SPORT CLUB's Luís Eduardo Lopez managed to work through Divisopolis SC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Luís Eduardo Lopez dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 93 minutes into the match, UBERABA SPORT CLUB's goalkeeper Adilson Munhoz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Faustão Lopes. The Divisopolis SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
