Sidney da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Pedro Proença in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute Tales Secco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jailson Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sidney da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Carlos Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Umberto Barreto in the 57thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Vereda's zone, Tales Secco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jailson Nunes came out of the goal and Tales Secco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tales Secco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Jailson Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Sidney Quintal kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sidney da Cunha. That made the score 1-3 in the 67 minute of play. In the 70th minute, Umberto Barreto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vereda fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Sidney da Cunha didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 79th minute, which inside left pole to 1-5.
