To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Orlando Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paula Tejando FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orlando Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

52 minutes into the match, Philipps FC's goalkeeper Nelson Dante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orlando Martins. In the 53rd minute, Carlos Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 57 played minutes Júlio Pereira rounded Philipps FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-1. Gilmar Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Valle in the 61st minute of play. In the 66th minute, Júlio Pereira fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nelson Dante, passed just outside the right post. After 71 minutes of play, Philipps FC's Alfredo Valle made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilmar Soares was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 82 played minutes Paula Tejando FC got a freekick which was hit by Silvério Botelho. The supporters of Paula Tejando FC booed when Philipps FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedito Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Orlando Martins struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Nelson Dante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paula Tejando FC. Carlinhos Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Gilmar Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
