A collision led to JEDI getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Tarcisio Bastos hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as JEDI's Dé Moraes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nildo Fernandes. That made the score 1-1 after 31 minutes of play. Nildo Fernandes made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Acácio Macedo sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 37 minutes, Clóvis Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BAHIA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clóvis Simões was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Júlio Araújo in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Vítor Rocha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luís Paulo Negri received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nildo Fernandes came out and tried to block the shot, but Luís Paulo Negri slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 43rd minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 52nd minute Acácio Macedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nildo Fernandes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nildo Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Paulo Negri in the 54th minute of the match. BAHIA's Allan de Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of BAHIA booed when JEDI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dé Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dé Moraes charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dé Moraes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. BAHIA made a substitution. Paulinho Saldanha replaced Allan de Godoi. A collision led to JEDI getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Dé Moraes hit a great ball. In the 64th minute, Luís Paulo Negri made a precise shot to the right of Nildo Fernandes. BAHIA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Acácio Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Nildo Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clóvis Simões struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. José Vítor Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BAHIA. Nildo Fernandes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Paulo Negri's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Paulo Negri in the 79th minute of play forced BAHIA's goalkeeper Nildo Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nildo Fernandes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Brodel, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Júlio Araújo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Vítor Rocha having to make a save.
