Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Júlio Araújo started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Nildo Fernandes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jefferson de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 12th minute, Alexandre de Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nildo Fernandes came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by BALAVENUTO FC's Valério Abreu. But to his dismay, Valério Abreu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Amadeu da Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Nildo Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Alexandre de Barros came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the BALAVENUTO FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre de Barros couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Júlio Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot. BAHIA's supporters rose to their feet, but Júlio Araújo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dudu Penha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 29 minutes into the match, Júlio Araújo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of BALAVENUTO FC's Dudu Penha. Dudu Penha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Júlio Araújo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Dudu Penha made a huge save. Alexandre de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nildo Fernandes having to interfere. When BALAVENUTO FC's Jefferson de Alcântara in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye BAHIA's goalie prevented a goal. BAHIA's Nildo Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jefferson de Alcântara in the 42nd minute of play. Willian Diniz hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Jefferson de Alcântara made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Valério Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to BAHIA getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Júlio Araújo hit a great ball. When Fernandão Carvalho fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BALAVENUTO FC's protests and gave Fernandão Carvalho a yellow card for diving instead. Clóvis Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudu Penha having to interfere. Dudu Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Araújo in the 61st minute of the match. Júlio Araújo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dudu Penha. BALAVENUTO FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 71st minute of the match BAHIA got a corner. BALAVENUTO FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sérgio de Castro ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Róbson Fernandez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but BALAVENUTO FC's Dudu Penha did a great save. With 72 minutes on the clock, Valério Abreu commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 73rd minute, Valério Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute, Sérgio de Castro sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and BALAVENUTO FC's Dudu Penha didn't even have to move. When BAHIA's Júlio Araújo in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye BALAVENUTO FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 77th minute, one of BALAVENUTO FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for BALAVENUTO FC. Dudu Penha went to the wrong direction when Sérgio de Castro was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Júlio Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudu Penha having to interfere. Alexandre de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 97 played minutes BAHIA got a freekick which was hit by João Linares. With his leg Nildo Fernandes managed to avoid a goal in the 98thth minute, when BALAVENUTO FC's Amadeu da Rocha fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
