In the 30th minute Luís Paulo Negri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelson Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to JEDI getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Dé Moraes hit a great ball. Carlinhos Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Vítor Rocha having to interfere. When Carlinhos Vinhas came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Philipps FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlinhos Vinhas couldn't finish the play. JEDI's Laerte Brodel got his second yellow card of the match in the 41st minute. The referee ordered Laerte Brodel off the ground. A collision led to Philipps FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Alfredão Salgado hit a great ball.

In the last second José Vítor Rocha throw himself and got hold of the ball when Carlinhos Vinhas in the 53rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Philipps FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Valle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Philipps FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for JEDI.
