After having played for 8 minutes, Luís Gustavo Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Planalto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Gustavo Garcia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hugo Breckenfeld kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Gernando Vander blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rubens Sabóia having to make a save. Adilson Mendonça might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rubens Sabóia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adilson Mendonça ran back to his position shaking his head. After 15 minutes, Adilson Mendonça made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. MANOLÃO's Rubens Sabóia tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Adilson Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rubens Sabóia was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Adilson Mendonças short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Rubens Sabóia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, MANOLÃO's Cafu Prestes got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 35th minute, Gernando Vander got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Adilson Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rubens Sabóia was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. 39 minutes into the match, MANOLÃO's goal looked a bit too open when Edvaldo Rosa came free, but Rubens Sabóia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. MANOLÃO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Blas Luar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Zé Damião hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Luiz Paulo Falcão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guilherme Vaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Luís Gustavo Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Blas Luar took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rubens Sabóia. Rubens Sabóia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Rubens Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adilson Mendonça in the 74th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adilson Mendonça in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubens Sabóia saved MANOLÃO from getting behind. When Adilson Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Planalto FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adilson Mendonça couldn't finish the play. In the 84th minute, Chicão Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rubens Sabóia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adilson Mendonça's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Luiz Paulo Falcão was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jarbas Veloso showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-1 in the 89 minute of play.
