Tunui's Horácio Peres proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Tunui from getting a goal against them. Gilberto Lira charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilberto Lira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Tunui booed when Mercenários FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Lira didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Richard Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the game, Enéas Reis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mercenários FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tunui the free kick. Enéas Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Tande in the 20th minute of play forced Mercenários FC's goalkeeper Andrézinho da Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 22 minutes, Adriano Tande made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Mercenários FC's Andrézinho da Costa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Richard Coelho in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrézinho da Costa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Adriano Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adriano Tande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrézinho da Costa having to interfere. Richard Coelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Andrézinho da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 45 played minutes Mercenários FC got a freekick which was hit by Enéas Reis. Adriano Tande recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Richard Coelho was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Mercenários FC's Gilberto Lira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Horácio Peres made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Mercenários FC's Andrézinho da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Coelho in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Mercenários FC's Giovanni Perez broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Luizão Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Andrézinho da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Coelho in the 61st minute of the match. Richard Coelho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andrézinho da Costa having to make a save. Adriano Tande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horácio Peres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizão Gonçalves in the 70th minute of play. If Luizão Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Adriano Tande got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mercenários FC's Andrézinho da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Coelho in the 79th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of Mercenários FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tunui:s goal. Adriano Tande recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tunui's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
