Lobos Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adilson Salgado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Júlio de Godoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eduardo Tróia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Eduardo Tróia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Júlio de Godoi went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Samuca Cearense charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuca Cearense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Empire Football Club getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Samuca Cearense hit a great ball. After 11 minutes, Júlio de Godoi made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Empire Football Club's Eduardo Tróia tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Arlindo Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adilson Salgado in the 16th minute of the match. Eduardo Tróia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Júlio de Godoi in the 18th minute. Doni Freire kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Empire Football Club's Toninho Sampaio tried to score from far away in the 22nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Lobos Futebol Clube's Arlindo Favoretto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuca Cearense in the 29th minute of play. Júlio de Godoi struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Eduardo Tróia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lobos Futebol Clube. If Júlio de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Adilson Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arlindo Favoretto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuca Cearense in the 44th minute of play. Samuca Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Arlindo Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Júnior de Castro was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Lobos Futebol Clube's Júlio de Godoi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eduardo Tróia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Arlindo Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuca Cearense in the 58th minute of the match. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Empire Football Club's goalkeeper Eduardo Tróia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eduardo Tróia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Júnior de Castro's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Samuca Cearense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Samuca Cearense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arlindo Favoretto having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Didi Trigo during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Lobos Futebol Clube's Didi Trigo got a free kick in the 87th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Arlindo Favoretto successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 88th play minute Samuca Cearense came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Arlindo Favoretto. 3-2. After 97 minutes Lobos Futebol Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Toninho Sampaio who took care of the corner kick. In the 99th minute of the match Empire Football Club got a corner. Lobos Futebol Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Toninho Sampaio ran over to the corner to take the kick. Bruno Bastos tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Arlindo Favoretto. An unnecessary self made goal, 3-3 in the 100th minute. Empire Football Club were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
