In a very dangerous position, a player in Martelet fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 6th minute. Penalty! If Luiz Fábio Camargo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martelet's Nelson Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldinho Vaz in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Pedro Luiz Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the game, Osvaldinho Vaz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Nelson Monteiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Osvaldinho Vaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nelson Monteiro was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Felippe Mineiro hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Benê Arce who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Gildo Coutinho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Osvaldinho Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Monteiro having to interfere. If Osvaldinho Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benê Arce stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pedro Luiz Machado took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gildo Coutinho. Gildo Coutinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 60 minutes into the match, Tucune FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benê Arce came free, but Gildo Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute, Osvaldinho Vaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldinho Vaz in the 63rd minute of play forced Martelet's goalkeeper Nelson Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benê Arce in the 64th minute of play forced Tucune FC's goalkeeper Gildo Coutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Benê Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nelson Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldinho Vaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 74 played minutes Tucune FC got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Vander. Luiz Fábio Camargo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Nelson Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Osvaldinho Vaz struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Nelson Monteiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tucune FC. Nelson Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldinho Vaz in the 89th minute of the match. Albertinho Teixeira hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Martelet's Nelson Monteiro got control of the ball when Luiz Fábio Camargo tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Osvaldinho Vaz came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the Tucune FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldinho Vaz couldn't finish the play. Tucune FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
