When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Andrézinho de Sena took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ediberto de Sena to make any attempt to save it. Andrézinho de Sena hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 16 played minutes Acudes got a freekick which was hit by Cléber Vieira. Luiz Paulo Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ediberto de Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dieguinho Queiroz in the 53rd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Luiz Paulo Maranhense put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Luís Fábio Ramos. Fluminense FC's Luís Fábio Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Paulo Maranhense in the 61st minute of play. Luís Fábio Ramos made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Luiz Paulo Maranhense sent off a good shot on target. Belmiro Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Luís Fábio Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Belmiro Barbosa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luís Fábio Ramos having to make a save. Luís Fábio Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belmiro Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. If Luiz Paulo Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 74 minutes into the match, Acudes's Belmiro Barbosa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luís Fábio Ramos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luiz Paulo Maranhense who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Luís Fábio Ramos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Belmiro Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Fábio Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Barbosa in the 83rd minute of play. If Belmiro Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Belmiro Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Fluminense FC's goalkeeper Luís Fábio Ramos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Acudes played a much better game than Fluminense FC and deserved their victory. The Fluminense FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
