Spectators: 7217 (Terracing: 5414, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Luís Fábio de Barros made the kick off which started today's match. In the 5th minute, João Paulo de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th minute, Abel Dias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Antunes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Luís Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 played minutes Goyandira got a freekick which was hit by Diego Vale. After a defensive mix-up in Goyandira's zone, Márcio Viana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Antunes came out of the goal and Márcio Viana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Luís Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davi Paraibano in the 24th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giuseppe Cardoso during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Giuseppe Cardoso hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davi Paraibano in the 29th minute of play forced Goyandira's goalkeeper Luís Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Goyandira's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Dias came free, but Luís Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute Adelino Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Dias took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Antunes. Luís Antunes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Luís Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davi Paraibano in the 45th minute of play. Luís Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Nóbrega in the 46th minute of the match. In the 48th minute Abel Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Goyandira players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Biriricas were winning 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Clemente Ortiz made a kick off. Goyandira's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Clemente Ortiz in the 53rd minute. The corner led Goyandira's Clemente Ortiz to fire away a dangerous shot which Sandrinho Peres despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luís Fábio de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Luís Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clemente Ortiz charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clemente Ortiz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Goyandira's Luís Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fábio de Barros in the 59th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abel Dias got free with Luís Antunes in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luís Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fábio de Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Thanks to some nice moves Abel Dias could shoot a difficult shot in the 63rd minute, which Luís Antunes however easily saved by the left post. A collision led to Goyandira getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Giuseppe Cardoso hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fábio de Barros in the 67th minute of play forced Goyandira's goalkeeper Luís Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abel Dias succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-5 in the 70th playminute. Biriricas's Sandrinho Peres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemente Ortiz in the 73rd minute of play. Luís Antunes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abel Dias in the 77th minute. Biriricas's Sandro Paiva shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 79th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Luís Antunes but with some difficulty. Luís Fábio de Barros charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Fábio de Barros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Clemente Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Clemente Ortiz made a precise shot to the right of Sandrinho Peres. Biriricas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Dias couldn't finish the play. Biriricas's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
