The penalty shot was made by Bruno Tepedino, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of A Morte's Nelsinho Lima. 1-0. Nelsinho Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulisses Coutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chicão Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. André Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Teles having to interfere. Jean Botelho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for André Teles. Real Madrid's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Baltazar Carneiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without André Teles having to make a save. After having played for 37 minutes, Alberto Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A Morte's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Salles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind A Morte's goalkeeper Nelsinho Lima, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in A Morte's zone, Ulisses Coutinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelsinho Lima came out of the goal and Ulisses Coutinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ulisses Coutinho made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of A Morte booed when Real Madrid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yan Britto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nelsinho Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulisses Coutinho in the 56th minute of the match. After 56 played minutes A Morte got a freekick which was hit by Amílton Diniz. Ulysses Pimenta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 2-0 became the score in the 65th minute when Ulysses Pimenta elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Ulysses Pimenta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joel Meira charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joel Meira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Real Madrid booed when A Morte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Meira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute of the match Bruno Tepedino sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nelsinho Lima skillfully saved the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Real Madrid's Ulysses Pimenta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nelsinho Lima narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chicão Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. André Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was beautiful to see Real Madrid's Dinei Schmidt in action when he in the 85th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! André Teles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chicão Vieira in the 88th minute of the match. A collision led to Real Madrid getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Gil Figueiredo hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Real Madrid had won after a very even match.
