Furia Rubi's Jaime Pirani got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adriano Guimarães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandrinho Baptista's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Clóvis Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio E. Cordovilense's supporters rose to their feet, but Clóvis Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dedê Palmeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vladimir Lopes's late challenge caught a Grêmio E. Cordovilense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vladimir Lopes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Furia Rubi getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Vladimir Lopes hit a great ball. Francisco Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedê Palmeira having to interfere. Dedê Palmeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clóvis Aguiar in the 15th minute of play. Sandrinho Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26thth minute of the game Sandrinho Baptista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grêmio E. Cordovilense's Adriano Guimarães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Grêmio E. Cordovilense getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Hélder Travassos hit a great ball. Jaime Pirani in the 28thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Adriano Guimarães, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Xavier in the 32nd minute of play forced Furia Rubi's goalkeeper Dedê Palmeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute Clóvis Aguiar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dedê Palmeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celso Corrêa hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 42 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Grêmio E. Cordovilense's Francisco Xavier fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Furia Rubi's goalkeeper Dedê Palmeira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Xavier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gerson Palmeira charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerson Palmeira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francisco Xavier in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dedê Palmeira saved Furia Rubi from getting behind. Jaime Pirani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Furia Rubi's zone, Francisco Xavier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dedê Palmeira came out of the goal and Francisco Xavier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jaime Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Sandrinho Baptista made a precise shot to the right of Adriano Guimarães. Grêmio E. Cordovilense's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 86th minute, one of Grêmio E. Cordovilense:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Grêmio E. Cordovilense. Vladimir Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Adriano Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grêmio E. Cordovilense's Adriano Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pirani in the 96th minute of play. 97 minutes into the match, Grêmio E. Cordovilense's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pirani came free, but Adriano Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
