If Gustavo Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gernando Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 21st minute Gernando Marinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvério Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gernando Marinho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Silvério Ribeiro having to make a save. If Leonardo Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonardo Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Silvério Ribeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 40 minutes of play, Estrellas's Leonardo Lopez made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Silvério Ribeiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Silvério Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Lopez in the 43rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Time Ruim's zone, Gernando Marinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvério Ribeiro came out of the goal and Gernando Marinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Hélder Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson do Nascimento having to interfere. The supporters of Estrellas booed when Time Ruim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guilherme Messias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gernando Marinho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silvério Ribeiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. If Leonardo Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Leonardo Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Estrellas's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonardo Lopez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvério Ribeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 73rd minute, Douglas Ribeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 77 minutes, Ezequiel Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estrellas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ezequiel Toscano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 78 played minutes Time Ruim got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Luís Fernandes. Silvério Ribeiro was a little too slow when Gernando Marinho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 0-2. In the 95th minute, Hélder Braga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match was over Estrellas could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Time Ruim throughout the match.
