The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Marumby. The referee gave Itapicuru SS a penalty, 15 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lenílson Queirós, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Marumby's Oséias Mota. 0-1. The Itapicuru SS fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Itapicuru SS's Zézinho Moreno looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 24 minutes into the match, Itapicuru SS's goalkeeper Vânderson Souza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Faustão Catarinense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Quadros in the 25th minute of play forced Itapicuru SS's goalkeeper Vânderson Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Itapicuru SS's Zézinho Moreno got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ramiro Linares charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramiro Linares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ramiro Linares kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. The wind increased when José Andrade made the kick off in the second half. Oséias Mota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olívio Vargas in the 53rd minute. Jonathan Quadros hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 69th match minute, Marumby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renan Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. When Faustão Catarinense came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Marumby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faustão Catarinense couldn't finish the play. After having played for 79 minutes, Emanuel Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marumby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Jacinto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
