Spectators: 6841 (Terracing: 5125, Seating: 1576, VIP seats: 140) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gugu Sousa started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Tupynambás's goal looked a bit too open when Dinei Faria came free, but Eliseu Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Tupynambás's João Carlos Faria got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 16th minute, Dinei Faria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Gugu Sousa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eliseu Monteiro was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Dinei Faria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dinei Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Serafim Diniz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tupynambás's supporters rose to their feet, but Serafim Diniz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guto Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guto Barbosa made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Carlos Faria in the 34th minute. In the 40th minute, Dinei Faria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eliseu Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gugu Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dinei Faria's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eliseu Monteiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. When Luís Galvão fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tupynambás's protests and gave Luís Galvão a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th match minute, Tupynambás was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Galvão to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Serafim Diniz to make the kick off. Serafim Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Carlos Faria might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guto Barbosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Carlos Faria ran back to his position shaking his head. Guto Barbosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serafim Diniz went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Guto Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serafim Diniz in the 62nd minute of play. Dinei Faria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Eliseu Monteiro made a huge save. If Gugu Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliseu Monteiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dinei Faria in the 82nd minute. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tupynambás! Dinei Faria hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute, Simão Pimenta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
