Spectators: 6565 (Terracing: 5465, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 100) José Andrade started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zézinho Moreno in the 5th minute of play forced EC Bahia's goalkeeper Marco Jacinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute, José Andrade left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itapicuru SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind EC Bahia's goalkeeper Marco Jacinto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Itapicuru SS getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Zézinho Moreno hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, Cássio Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the game, Franklin Loureiro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vânderson Souza. Franklin Loureiro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After 23 minutes, Carlinhos Pires mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itapicuru SS and the EC Bahia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rd minute, Carlinhos Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vânderson Souza was a little too slow when Franklin Loureiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 2-1. Marco Jacinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Andrade in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Jacinto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marco Jacinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute Itapicuru SS were awarded a corner. Lenílson Queirós went to the cornerflag to take it. Lenílson Queirós made a great header on Itapicuru SS's corner, it was just that EC Bahia's Marco Jacinto managed to reach the ball for a save. When Itapicuru SS's José Andrade in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye EC Bahia's goalie prevented a goal. In the 42nd minute of the match Juninho Linhares shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vânderson Souza showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 45 minutes into the match, EC Bahia's goal looked a bit too open when Zézinho Moreno came free, but Marco Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Franklin Loureiro made the kick off in the second half. When Itapicuru SS's José Andrade in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye EC Bahia's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as José Andrade kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marco Jacinto. That made the score 2-2 in the 58 minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Itapicuru SS's goal looked a bit too open when João Pedro Miranda came free, but Vânderson Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of EC Bahia booed when Itapicuru SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olívio Vargas didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Váldson Velloso during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 67 played minutes EC Bahia got a freekick which was hit by Váldson Velloso. 67 minutes into the match, Itapicuru SS's Lenílson Queirós broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a rather tough play, EC Bahia's Celsinho Godoi got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Vicente Neves hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute of the match Raí Netto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vânderson Souza skillfully saved the ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
