Oséias Mota was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 16 minutes into the match, Cachoeira F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Faustão Catarinense came free, but Válter Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Válter Jacinto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Quadros in the 17th minute of the match. Marumby's Oséias Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Catarinense in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Telmo Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the game, Pedro Teles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cachoeira F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marumby the free kick. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lino Catarinense was the one to do the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lino Catarinense couldn't finish the play. If Lino Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Cachoeira F.C booed when Marumby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Lino Catarinense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cachoeira F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Lino Catarinense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oséias Mota breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Marumby's zone, Lino Catarinense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oséias Mota came out of the goal and Lino Catarinense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lino Catarinense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséias Mota having to interfere. Jonathan Quadros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Válter Jacinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Teles kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Jonathan Quadros might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Válter Jacinto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonathan Quadros ran back to his position shaking his head. Vânderson Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséias Mota having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Cachoeira F.C's Lino Catarinense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oséias Mota narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jonathan Quadros struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Válter Jacinto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marumby. 94 minutes into the match, Jonathan Quadros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Válter Jacinto. Cachoeira F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jonathan Quadros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. When the match was over Cachoeira F.C could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Marumby throughout the match.
