The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Claudinei Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karol Niedziela having to interfere. With his leg Luiz Fabiano Torres managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Mundubim FC's Anísio da Silveira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rômulo Donatello's late challenge caught a Mundubim FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rômulo Donatello helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th match minute, Bomba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rômulo Donatello to maneuver through the defense. When Anísio da Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Mundubim FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anísio da Silveira couldn't finish the play. Marco Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diego Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fabiano Torres having to interfere. In the 41st match minute, Bomba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rômulo Donatello to maneuver through the defense. Luiz Fabiano Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Leão, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

José Augusto do Valle hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Karol Niedziela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Saldanha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute of the match Glauco de Toledo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Karol Niedziela showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Juvenal Madureira kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Marco Abreu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Karol Niedziela firmly grabbed it by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Abreu got free with Karol Niedziela in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
