An unexpectedly hard shot by Enéas Corrêa in the 5th minute of play forced Viela F.C's goalkeeper Humberto das Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adhemar Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mazinho Campidelis in the 7th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Amadeu de Castro put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Adhemar Toledo. Amadeu de Castro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adhemar Toledo having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Viela F.C's Ronaldinho Leal got a free kick in the 14th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Amadeu de Castro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Adhemar Toledo. Amadeu de Castro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Flavio Cordaryal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Adhemar Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Viela F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Guerra came free, but Humberto das Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mazinho Campidelis was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 35th minute. Viela F.C's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Amadeu de Castro came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Viela F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amadeu de Castro couldn't finish the play. Viela F.C's Amauri Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amadeu de Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amadeu de Castro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adhemar Toledo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. If Amadeu de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeu de Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Adhemar Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viela F.C's Ricardo Sanches was substituted for Valdir Monteiro. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Orlando Guerra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Viela F.C's Amadeu de Castro in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jacarecoara SS's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Jacarecoara SS's zone, Mazinho Campidelis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adhemar Toledo came out of the goal and Mazinho Campidelis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Viela F.C made a substitution. Nilmar Freire replaced Amauri Guimarães. Viela F.C's Humberto das Neves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Viela F.C from getting a goal against them. Amadeu de Castro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adhemar Toledo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Amadeu de Castro put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Adhemar Toledo. With a left leg Adhemar Toledo saved Jacarecoara SS from getting behind. Adhemar Toledo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amadeu de Castro's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. If Amadeu de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
