Aloísio Cordeiro had in the 7thth minute some difficulties stopping Ernani Vianna's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Ernani Vianna scored 1-0 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aloísio Cordeiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aloísio Cordeiro came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Anhandui's Vágner Rosa. But to his dismay, Vágner Rosa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vágner Rosa got free with Aloísio Cordeiro in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Xie Kun Fan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Murilo Reis's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Falcão Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xie Kun Fan having to interfere. Murilo Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Xie Kun Fan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Murilo Reis notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Anhandui's Xie Kun Fan. Xie Kun Fan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Celsinho Cavalcante might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xie Kun Fan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Celsinho Cavalcante ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Edgar Maia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aloísio Cordeiro was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Murilo Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Xie Kun Fan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Aloísio Cordeiro managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Anhandui's Dino Amaral fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Aloísio Cordeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 39 minutes into the game, Falcão Matos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 2 de Julho EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Anhandui the free kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Xie Kun Fan made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Murilo Reis sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Anhandui getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Ernani Vianna hit a great ball. After 69 minutes of play, Anhandui's Vágner Rosa made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 77th minute, Falcão Matos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 86 in the game by Murilo Reis from a close distance when the talented Xie Kun Fan managed to make a qualified save. Anhandui's players were relieved. In the 88th minute Celsinho Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xie Kun Fan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Murilo Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 92 minutes into the game, José Pena threw the ball into play from the sideline. 2 de Julho EC's Inácio Sergipano quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Aloísio Cordeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dino Amaral in the 96th minute of the match. The Anhandui support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
