Tijucal F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but José Maria Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Jacinto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dariusz Mikulski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nando Brodel in the 8th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the game, Nando Brodel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Camboata EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tijucal F.C. the free kick. After 12 played minutes Camboata EC got a freekick which was hit by Nando Brodel. Marcelo Jacinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr de Lima in the 18th minute of play. Tijucal F.C. were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Camboata EC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Raúl da Cunha took the corner. After taking down the ball on Tijucal F.C.'s corner Raúl da Cunha fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marcelo Jacinto quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to Camboata EC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. César Paraense hit a great ball. Raúl da Cunha didn't quite understand what happened when in the 27 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Nando Brodel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Camboata EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nando Brodel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 39th minute, Willian Santana had to leave the field with a concussion. Ruy de Barros charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ruy de Barros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 40 played minutes Tijucal F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ruy de Barros. In the 42nd match minute, Tijucal F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Maria Souza to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Maria Souza got free with Marcelo Jacinto in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tijucal F.C.'s José Maria Souza got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After 57 minutes, Cristiano Reis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Camboata EC and the Tijucal F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th minute, Walmyr de Lima ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelo Jacinto was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. If José Maria Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 65 minutes, Juarês Neiva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Camboata EC and the Tijucal F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 68 minutes, Walmyr de Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tijucal F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmyr de Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 73rd minute, Cristiano Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Tijucal F.C. booed when Camboata EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelo Jacinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Maria Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the game, Tijucal F.C.'s Walmyr de Lima nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcelo Jacinto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Marcelo Jacinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr de Lima in the 87th minute of play. When Walmyr de Lima came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Tijucal F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmyr de Lima couldn't finish the play. After 92 played minutes Camboata EC got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Reis. The audience cheered when Raúl da Cunha's long shot passed Marcelo Jacinto's right side. It was 3-0, 93 minutes into the match. When Walmyr de Lima came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Tijucal F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmyr de Lima couldn't finish the play.
