Guaiaca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Vargas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Arí Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fernando Peixoto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardo Vargas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luís Fernando Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 57 minutes, Arí Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caninae's defense didn't have a chance, in the 68th minute, when Valdo Campidelis scored to the left of an out of position Alexsandro Tasso, making the score, 1-2. José Maria Madureira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fernando Peixoto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the game, Eurico Antunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guaiaca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caninae the free kick. 75 minutes into the game, one of Guaiaca:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Arí Arce's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Maria Madureira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. Guaiaca's José Maria Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arí Arce in the 94th minute of play. Luís Fernando Peixoto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. José Maria Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
