After a defensive mix-up in Mirassol Esporte Clube's zone, Luís Fernando Peixoto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcel Maciel came out of the goal and Luís Fernando Peixoto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Joel Velloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 10 minutes into the match, Mirassol Esporte Clube's Joel Velloso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexsandro Tasso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luís Fernando Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 13th minute, Mirassol Esporte Clube's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luís Fernando Peixoto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Nilmar Couto fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mirassol Esporte Clube's protests and gave Nilmar Couto a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Caninae booed when Mirassol Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilmar Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 19 minutes, Joel Velloso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mirassol Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Velloso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21stth minute of the game Joel Velloso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caninae's Alexsandro Tasso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alexsandro Tasso came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Mirassol Esporte Clube's Joel Velloso. But to his dismay, Joel Velloso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 25 minutes into the match, Caninae's goal looked a bit too open when Nilmar Couto came free, but Alexsandro Tasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 30 minutes, Joel Velloso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mirassol Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Velloso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nilmar Couto in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexsandro Tasso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nilmar Couto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexsandro Tasso having to interfere. In the 42nd match minute, Caninae was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdir Novaes to maneuver through the defense. Alexsandro Tasso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilmar Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Caninae players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mirassol Esporte Clube were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Joel Velloso made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Mirassol Esporte Clube's Nilmar Couto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alexsandro Tasso. Alexsandro Tasso yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardinho da Mata during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ricardinho da Mata kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Marcel Maciel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Fernando Peixoto's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Zé Paulo Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexsandro Tasso having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Joel Velloso in the 64th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. A collision led to Caninae getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Valdir Novaes hit a great ball. Joel Velloso was extremely unlucky when he, in the 66th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a rather tough play, Caninae's Umberto Madureira got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd minute, Renatinho Sampaio sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Caninae's Alexsandro Tasso didn't even have to move. In the 75th minute, Nilmar Couto made a precise shot to the right of Alexsandro Tasso. Caninae's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Nilmar Couto did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-6 to the left of a surprised Alexsandro Tasso 84 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nilmar Couto got free with Alexsandro Tasso in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Caninae's Alexsandro Tasso got control of the ball when Nilmar Couto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joel Velloso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexsandro Tasso having to make a save. When the match was over Mirassol Esporte Clube could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Caninae throughout the match.
