Robinho Soeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Lira, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Ciro Neto came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Serra Futebol Clube's Válter Santos. But to his dismay, Válter Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Ulysses Marquez hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Waldir Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Neto having to interfere. Ciro Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luiz Salgado in the 46th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nildo Rodrigues to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Nildo Rodrigues made a precise shot to the right of Ciro Neto. Maripa Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. 58 minutes into the match, Hortêncio Freire had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ciro Neto. The audience was convinced that Nildo Rodrigues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ciro Neto was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. In the 95th of the match, Humberto Lira tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Robinho Soeiro got in the way and made a wonderful save.
