In the 16thth minute of the game Nildo Rodrigues who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SPORT CLUB OGUM's Váldson Prado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, SPORT CLUB OGUM's Oséias Koehler got a free kick in the 17th minute. The audience was convinced that Nildo Rodrigues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Váldson Prado was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in SPORT CLUB OGUM's zone, Armandinho Vasconcelos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Váldson Prado came out of the goal and Armandinho Vasconcelos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nildo Rodrigues struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Váldson Prado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Serra Futebol Clube. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nildo Rodrigues in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Váldson Prado saved SPORT CLUB OGUM from getting behind. Váldson Prado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Válter Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. A collision led to SPORT CLUB OGUM getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Tomé Viana hit a great ball. After 32 minutes, Baltazar Rosado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SPORT CLUB OGUM and the Serra Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Serra Futebol Clube booed when SPORT CLUB OGUM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltazar Rosado didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Válter Santos in the 40th minute of play forced SPORT CLUB OGUM's goalkeeper Váldson Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nildo Rodrigues took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Váldson Prado. Váldson Prado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. If Nildo Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Serra Futebol Clube booed when SPORT CLUB OGUM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Serra Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Waldir Rosado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Váldson Prado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nildo Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Váldson Prado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nildo Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Váldson Prado having to interfere. A collision led to SPORT CLUB OGUM getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Ulisses Trevisan hit a great ball. Serra Futebol Clube's Abelardo Prata shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 69th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Váldson Prado but with some difficulty. The supporters of Serra Futebol Clube booed when SPORT CLUB OGUM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oséias Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hortêncio Freire took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Váldson Prado. Váldson Prado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Serra Futebol Clube's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
