In the 9th minute, Romeu Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 13 minutes into the match, Serra Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Gerson Sousa came free, but Robinho Soeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Washington França in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robinho Soeiro saved Serra Futebol Clube from getting behind. In the 16th minute Válter Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Alagoano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abelardo Prata took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Humberto Alagoano. 09 de Julho's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 18 minutes, Nildo Rodrigues made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. 09 de Julho's Humberto Alagoano tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 21st match minute, 09 de Julho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egídio Catarinense to maneuver through the defense. In the 28thth minute of the game Nildo Rodrigues who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but 09 de Julho's Humberto Alagoano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 29 minutes into the match, 09 de Julho's goalkeeper Humberto Alagoano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armandinho Vasconcelos. Humberto Alagoano made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Waldir Rosado sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Washington França in the 34th minute of play forced Serra Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Robinho Soeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 09 de Julho's Humberto Alagoano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save 09 de Julho from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Washington França to strike the kick off in the second half. If Waldir Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Serra Futebol Clube:s Robinho Soeiro showed great skill when he stopped Yuri Goiano:s penalty. 56 minutes into the match, Serra Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Washington França came free, but Robinho Soeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Serra Futebol Clube's Hortêncio Freire got a free kick in the 57th minute. Robinho Soeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Washington França, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute, Válter Santos made a precise shot to the right of Humberto Alagoano. 09 de Julho's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Waldir Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Alagoano having to interfere. In the 69th minute of the match Abelardo Prata shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Humberto Alagoano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Robinho Soeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egídio Catarinense in the 74th minute of play. Gerson Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Válter Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Humberto Alagoano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Válter Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nildo Rodrigues struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Humberto Alagoano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Serra Futebol Clube. There was no doubt that Serra Futebol Clube were the better team. Serra Futebol Clube's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
