The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th minute, Ismael Borges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Real Macedo FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Jairo Goiano hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Carlos Toledo during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 14th match minute, Real Macedo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Carlos Toledo to maneuver through the defense. Itacima's Ismael Borges got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes into the game, Jairo Goiano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Macedo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itacima the free kick. Jairo Goiano hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Gino Dante made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Ismael Borges sent off a good shot on target. In the 29th minute, Ismael Borges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 32 minutes into the game, Bruninho Rossi threw the ball into play from the sideline. Itacima's Enio Dracena quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Ismael Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Dante having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Montenegro in the 36th minute of play forced Itacima's goalkeeper Benjamim Capixaba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Itacima's Benjamim Capixaba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Carlos Toledo in the 37th minute of play. Ismael Borgess short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Gino Dante to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 41st minute, Mauro Ferreira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itacima fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Severino Montenegro to strike the kick off in the second half. Serginho Carvalho made in the 54th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Simão Salles however managed to control. Severino Montenegro's late challenge caught a Itacima's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Severino Montenegro helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Real Macedo FC's Severino Montenegro got a free kick in the 56th minute. The audience was convinced that Ismael Borges's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gino Dante was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 65th minute, Simão Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. André Luiz Coutinho struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Gino Dante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itacima. 70 minutes into the match, Ismael Borges notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Real Macedo FC's Gino Dante. Gino Dante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Severino Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benjamim Capixaba read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute of the match, Simão Salles got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benjamim Capixaba was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After some careless play in the Itacima defense, Severino Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benjamim Capixaba. The Itacima fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benjamim Capixaba should have stopped the shot. During the 85th minute of the match João Carlos Toledo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave João Carlos Toledo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. João Carlos Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Rony Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Dante having to interfere. Gino Dante stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ismael Borges's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. After 94 minutes of play, Itacima's Ismael Borges made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gino Dante was left in no man's land by his defense there!
