Spectators: 6659 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1659, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when André Luís Senna got the match started through his kick off. Daniel Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luís Senna in the 3rd minute of play. Daniel Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gildo Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 6 minutes into the match, Goiãnia's goal looked a bit too open when Válter Mendonça came free, but Gugu Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute of the match, Sílvio Simões got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gugu Teixeira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience was convinced that José Vítor de Sena's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Batista was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. After 20 played minutes Biribiri AD got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Schmidt. Goiãnia's Gildo Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Batista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Paes's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Sílvio Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Gugu Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Goiãnia's Luís Paes got a free kick in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Válter Mendonça to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Biribiri AD's zone, José Vítor de Sena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Batista came out of the goal and José Vítor de Sena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 54th minute André Luís Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57th minute, José Carlos Paraibano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luís Paes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 60 played minutes Biribiri AD got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Motta. In the 61st minute Gildo Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Gildo Alcântara made a precise shot to the right of Daniel Batista. Biribiri AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 66th minute, Gildo Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Goiãnia booed when Biribiri AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haroldo de Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Batista having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Goiãnia's José Vítor de Sena dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. José Vítor de Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Batista having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Vítor de Sena in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Batista prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 87 minutes, Gildo Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goiãnia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gildo Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elói Abreu kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. 93 minutes into the match, Biribiri AD's goal looked a bit too open when André Luís Senna came free, but Daniel Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Luís Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goiãnia's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Paes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Batista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
