After 3 played minutes Anchieta SC got a freekick which was hit by Fiori Abreu. 4 minutes into the match, Goiãnia's Gildo Alcântara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aílton Quirino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arthur de Alcântara hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 7th match minute, Goiãnia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paes to maneuver through the defense. Gugu Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fiori Abreu in the 8th minute of play. In the 11th minute, André Luís Senna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 13 minutes into the match, Anchieta SC's goalkeeper Aílton Quirino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gildo Alcântara. 16 minutes into the game, Fiori Abreu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gugu Teixeira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gildo Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aílton Quirino having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fiori Abreu in the 23rd minute of play forced Goiãnia's goalkeeper Gugu Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Fiori Abreu notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Goiãnia's Gugu Teixeira. Gugu Teixeira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 30 minutes into the match, Goiãnia's Luís Paes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aílton Quirino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 32ndth minute of the game Aírton de Queiroz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Goiãnia's Gugu Teixeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fiori Abreu scored 0-3 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gugu Teixeira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 39th minute André Luís Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aílton Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aílton Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Vítor de Sena in the 40th minute of the match. The supporters of Anchieta SC booed when Goiãnia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Gerber didn't get a good kick on the ball. Betinho Penha took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gugu Teixeira. Goiãnia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luís Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Aílton Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Goiãnia's zone, Arthur de Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gugu Teixeira came out of the goal and Arthur de Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The wind increased when André Luís Senna made the kick off in the second half. Aílton Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Luís Paes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Luís Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Aílton Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Luís Paes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Goiãnia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Gugu Teixeira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juarês Leme in the 68th minute. Gugu Teixeira came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Anchieta SC's Juarês Leme. But to his dismay, Juarês Leme quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Goiãnia's Gugu Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fiori Abreu in the 76th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Anchieta SC's Arthur de Alcântara got a free kick in the 78th minute. With a little luck, Goiãnia's Gugu Teixeira got control of the ball when Juarês Leme tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 82nd match minute, Goiãnia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paes to maneuver through the defense. If André Luís Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Juarês Leme could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Gugu Teixeira made a huge save. The Anchieta SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
