After having played for 4 minutes, Flavinho Paraense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 10thth minute of the game Flavinho Paraense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Biribiri AD's Daniel Batista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Flavinho Paraense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th minute, Jacinto Motta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sílvio Simões could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Jerônimo Miranda made a huge save. Bebeto Mattos's late challenge caught a Botafogo PB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bebeto Mattos helped the player get up and apologised. Bebeto Mattos hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Daniel Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavinho Paraense in the 35th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Vítor Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botafogo PB's supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Mota was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Válter Mendonça in the 40th minute of play forced Botafogo PB's goalkeeper Jerônimo Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vítor Mota charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vítor Mota the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Botafogo PB getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Vítor Mota hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Válter Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerônimo Miranda was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Válter Mendonça was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Biribiri AD got a freekick which was hit by Abelardo Sá. If Flavinho Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 63 minutes, Claudinho Neves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Botafogo PB and the Biribiri AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Botafogo PB's Claudinho Neves got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Botafogo PB's Jerônimo Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Simões in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Válter Mendonça in the 71st minute of play forced Botafogo PB's goalkeeper Jerônimo Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jerônimo Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válter Mendonça in the 73rd minute of play. Sílvio Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Jerônimo Miranda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sílvio Simões recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edinho Sena hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. A nice corner shot did that Zé Roberto Gerber got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jerônimo Miranda quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 87thth minute of the game Sílvio Simões who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Botafogo PB's Jerônimo Miranda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
