When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Valdir de Barros took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Alfredinho Britto to make any attempt to save it. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Anselmo Costa sped through Os Trezes's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alfredinho Britto. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anselmo Costa got free with Alfredinho Britto in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Caio Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdir de Barros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
