But to his dismay, Zé Augusto Senna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 19 minutes, Valdo Velasco made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Atlético Patifaria's Dagoberto Leite tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 26th minute Kaká da Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zézinho Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kaká da Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Soares having to interfere. When Corcovado's Valdo Velasco in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atlético Patifaria's goalie prevented a goal. 32 minutes into the match, Corcovado's goalkeeper Zézinho Soares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kaká da Fonseca. The supporters of Atlético Patifaria booed when Corcovado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilton Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Atlético Patifaria's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Augusto Senna came free, but Dagoberto Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Corcovado's Valdo Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Augusto Senna in the 47th minute of play forced Atlético Patifaria's goalkeeper Dagoberto Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valdo Velasco was the one to do the kick off. Dagoberto Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Zé Augusto Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Dagoberto Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atlético Patifaria's Dagoberto Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdo Velasco in the 64th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Augusto Senna got free with Dagoberto Leite in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dagoberto Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdo Velasco in the 67th minute of play. After 68th play minutes Valdo Velasco shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Dagoberto Leite and just under the crossbar into goal. Kaká da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Zézinho Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Atlético Patifaria's goalkeeper Dagoberto Leite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Augusto Senna. Zé Augusto Senna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Dagoberto Leite made a huge save. 88 minutes into the match, Valdo Velasco dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dagoberto Leite, 0-5. Through an outstanding action, after 95 minutes, Dagoberto Leite successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Atlético Patifaria supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Corcovado's performance. The match ended with a win for Corcovado.
