Paulo José Vinhas came out and tried to block the shot, but Mazinho Arce slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 4th minute. Pranchao's Mazinho Arce got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Madrugueira FC's Glauco França got a free kick in the 18th minute. After some careless play in the Madrugueira FC defense, Caetano Carvalho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo José Vinhas. The Madrugueira FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo José Vinhas should have stopped the shot. In the 30th minute, Otávio Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Pedro Gerber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Nilmar Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When João Pedro Gerber came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Madrugueira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Pedro Gerber couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the match, Pranchao's goal looked a bit too open when Glauco França came free, but Nilmar Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Marco Lopez came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Madrugueira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Lopez couldn't finish the play. João Pedro Gerber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45th minute, Caetano Carvalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo José Vinhas was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mazinho Arce stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Caetano Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo José Vinhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Madrugueira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho Arce came free, but Paulo José Vinhas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th match minute, Madrugueira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glauco França to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes into the match, Pranchao's goalkeeper Nilmar Proença had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Glauco França. João Pedro Gerber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. João Pedro Gerber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Caetano Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 79 played minutes Pranchao got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Augusto Madureira. When Marco Lopez came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Madrugueira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Lopez couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Carvalho in the 84th minute of play forced Madrugueira FC's goalkeeper Paulo José Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Pedro Gerber could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Nilmar Proença made a huge save. Otávio Madureira scored 4-0 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo José Vinhas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Paulo José Vinhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Many of Madrugueira FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Madrugueira FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Pranchao were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
