Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mazinho Arce kicked off to start the match. 5 minutes into the match, Mazinho Arce had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zézinho Soares. Corcovado's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mazinho Arce was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Fernando Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zézinho Soares came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Pranchao's Mazinho Arce. But to his dismay, Mazinho Arce quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After some careless play in the Pranchao defense, Valdo Velasco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nilmar Proença. The Pranchao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nilmar Proença should have stopped the shot. Nilmar Proença made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdo Velasco in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Carlos Augusto Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Barreto during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A hard shot 37 in the game by Zé Augusto Senna from a close distance when the talented Nilmar Proença managed to make a qualified save. Pranchao's players were relieved. 38 minutes into the match, Pranchao's goal looked a bit too open when Valdo Velasco came free, but Nilmar Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nilmar Proença made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Augusto Senna in the 39th minute. 43 minutes into the game, Valdo Velasco recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nilmar Proença. Valdo Velasco showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdo Velasco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Corcovado's Fernando Barreto got a free kick in the 51st minute. Zé Augusto Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Nilmar Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Pranchao's goal looked a bit too open when Valdo Velasco came free, but Nilmar Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nilmar Proença showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Augusto Senna in the 60th minute of the match. Valdo Velasco took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nilmar Proença. Nilmar Proença dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. After 68 played minutes Pranchao got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Augusto Madureira. José de Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nilmar Proença read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Nilmar Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Augusto Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Valdo Velasco fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corcovado's protests and gave Valdo Velasco a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pranchao booed when Corcovado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdo Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Augusto Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Proença having to interfere. Nilmar Proença showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdo Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Zé Augusto Senna might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nilmar Proença. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Augusto Senna ran back to his position shaking his head. Valdo Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nilmar Proença made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdo Velasco in the 93rd minute of play. Corcovado walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
