Atlético Patifaria's Luiz Fábio Vieira got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Peixoto in the 95th minute of play forced Atlético Patifaria's goalkeeper Dagoberto Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Real Sociedad's goalkeeper Thiago Leite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sílvio Teixeira. Despite being the better team, Atlético Patifaria failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
