The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Glauco França during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 14th minute of the match Luciano Félix sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulo José Vinhas skillfully saved the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Os Mal Falado's Pedro Luís Mota slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paulo José Vinhas. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. José Paulo Vaz hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the match, Os Mal Falado's goal looked a bit too open when João Pedro Gerber came free, but Pedrão Sá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 41 played minutes Os Mal Falado got a freekick which was hit by Aníbal Bittencourt. João Pedro Gerber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Pedro Gerber was the one to do the kick off. João Pedro Gerber took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedrão Sá. Pedrão Sá dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 57 minutes into the match, Madrugueira FC's João Pedro Gerber sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedrão Sá narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Paulo José Vinhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flávio Arruda in the 59th minute of the match. Paulo José Vinhas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adilson Damião's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flávio Arruda in the 66th minute of play forced Madrugueira FC's goalkeeper Paulo José Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute of the match, Marco Lopez got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pedrão Sá was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Pedrão Sá came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Madrugueira FC's João Pedro Gerber. But to his dismay, João Pedro Gerber quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 78th minute Adilson Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo José Vinhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Pedrão Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Glauco França fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão Sá having to interfere. In the 95th minute, João Pedro Gerber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. João Pedro Gerber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Madrugueira FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
