The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Augusto Madureira during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Pranchao getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Carlos Augusto Madureira hit a great ball. Kaká da Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sílvio Teixeira in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nilmar Proença prevented the ball from getting in the gole. José Pedro Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Nilmar Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kaká da Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Otávio Madureira fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pranchao's protests and gave Otávio Madureira a yellow card for diving instead. After 23 played minutes Pranchao got a freekick which was hit by Otávio Madureira. After a rather tough play, Pranchao's Caetano Carvalho got a free kick in the 24th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Caetano Carvalho in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Nilmar Proença showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Pedro Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Dagoberto Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Atlético Patifaria booed when Pranchao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caetano Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kléberson das Neves scored 1-0 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nilmar Proença, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dagoberto Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mazinho Arce in the 44th minute of the match. Dagoberto Leite didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mazinho Arce went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.

56 minutes into the match, Pranchao's goal looked a bit too open when Kaká da Fonseca came free, but Nilmar Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Pedro Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Proença having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Pranchao's Mazinho Arce got a free kick in the 64th minute. Dagoberto Leite didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Caetano Carvalho went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Luiz Fábio Vieira might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nilmar Proença. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nilmar Proença didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Patifaria. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Atlético Patifaria fully deserved thier win.
