When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Gabriel Messias put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gilvan Secco. In the 10th match minute, Manaira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias de Barros to maneuver through the defense. William Chaves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 15th match minute, Manaira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. When Charles Abreu fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manaira's protests and gave Charles Abreu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Manaira getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Charles Abreu hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Manaira defense, Gabriel Messias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilvan Secco. The Manaira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilvan Secco should have stopped the shot. In the 30th match minute, Manaira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles Abreu to maneuver through the defense. Fausto Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charles Abreu in the 33rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Manaira's zone, Gabriel Messias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilvan Secco came out of the goal and Gabriel Messias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fausto Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charles Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Kléberson Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júlio Nogueira hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 47 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Gabriel Messias sped through Manaira's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gilvan Secco. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabriel Messias made a kick off. Castelo de Areia E.C.'s Gabriel Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 58 minutes in the game, Gabriel Messias fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gilvan Secco having to interfere. After 58 played minutes Manaira got a freekick which was hit by Tiago Cavalcante. Fausto Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias de Barros in the 62nd minute of play. Kléberson Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute Gabriel Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilvan Secco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias de Barros in the 83rd minute of play forced Castelo de Areia E.C.'s goalkeeper Fausto Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th match minute, Manaira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias de Barros to maneuver through the defense. Elano Cardoso might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilvan Secco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elano Cardoso ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Castelo de Areia E.C.'s William Chaves got a free kick in the 94th minute. Castelo de Areia E.C.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
