Dráuzio Amaral charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dráuzio Amaral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th minute, Dráuzio Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute Carlos Alberto Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafim Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdo Prado got free with Váldson Terra in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dráuzio Amaral got his second yellow card in the match during the 61st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. 65 minutes into the game, César Travassos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buerarama SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Baluarte FC the free kick. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Buerarama SC's João Rossi in the 90th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Váldson Terra was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Baluarte FC through an amazing save. 94 minutes into the game, Baluarte FC's Percy da Rocha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Serafim Viana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. There was no doubt that Baluarte FC were the better team. Baluarte FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
