Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Carlos Alberto Cardoso took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Marcelinho Fernandez fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vitinho's protests and gave Marcelinho Fernandez a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 minutes of play Vitinho's Marcelinho Fernandez was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Marcelinho Fernandez hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. 7 minutes into the match, Vitinho's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Matos came free, but Benedito Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Dinei Bertassi fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vitinho's protests and gave Dinei Bertassi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th match minute, Vitinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinei Bertassi to maneuver through the defense. Wilson Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vitinho's Benedito Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Matos in the 14th minute of play. Benedito Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Matos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Alberto Cardoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 19 played minutes Vitinho got a freekick which was hit by Adrianinho de Senna. After a defensive mix-up in Vitinho's zone, Wilson Matos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benedito Teixeira came out of the goal and Wilson Matos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wilson Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilson Matos in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benedito Teixeira saved Vitinho from getting behind. 29 minutes into the match, Carlos Alberto Cardoso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benedito Teixeira. Vitinho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Alberto Cardoso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Wilson Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Baluarte FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adrianinho de Senna made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Alberto Cardoso in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benedito Teixeira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Genílson Britto charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Genílson Britto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. José Carlos Mesquita shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Dinei Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Váldson Terra having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Carlos Alberto Cardoso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benedito Teixeira was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Carlos Alberto Cardoso took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Benedito Teixeira to make any attempt to save it. If Wilson Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrianinho de Senna in the 85th minute of play forced Baluarte FC's goalkeeper Váldson Terra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vitinho's Benedito Teixeira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Vitinho from getting a goal against them. Vitinho's Benedito Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Cardoso in the 89th minute of play. In the 96th minute Carlos Alberto Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baluarte FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
