In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlhetic Guariba Monkeys's goalkeeper Nilton Vidal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Atlhetic Guariba Monkeys's Nilton Vidal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Atlhetic Guariba Monkeys from getting a goal against them. Atlhetic Guariba Monkeys's Nelson Vander got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kauan Leão was the one to do the kick off. Murillo Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilton Vidal having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Sagres SS's zone, Nelson Vander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albertino de Amaral came out of the goal and Nelson Vander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nilton Vidal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Murillo Quirino's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. If Murillo Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Atlhetic Guariba Monkeys booed when Sagres SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarbas Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Nelson Vander got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
