If Váldson Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jefferson Santos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Faustão Martins went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Carlos Eduardo Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Betinho Sampaio charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Betinho Sampaio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Betinho Sampaio hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. When Seixa's Váldson Valadares in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Brasilia's goalie prevented a goal. 14 minutes into the match, Brasilia's Carlos Fontes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mário de Moraes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Seixa getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Ivo Paiva hit a great ball. Mário de Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Fontes in the 21st minute of play. Seixa's Mário de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raí Siqueira in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Fontes in the 29th minute of play forced Seixa's goalkeeper Mário de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mário de Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Fontes in the 32nd minute of the match. Mário de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldão Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Mário de Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldão Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute Adrianinho Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mário de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldão Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Fontes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Carlos Fontes fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brasilia's protests and gave Carlos Fontes a yellow card for diving instead. Carlos Fontes hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After 54 minutes, Bruno de Alcântara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Seixa and the Brasilia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Seixa fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 54th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 56 minutes, Brasilia's Carlos Eduardo Sousa got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Mário de Moraes. Carlinhos Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Váldson Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raí Siqueira's late challenge caught a Seixa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raí Siqueira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 67th match minute, Brasilia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raí Siqueira to maneuver through the defense. Ronaldão Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ronaldão Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronaldão Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Mário de Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mário de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. When Faustão Martins came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Seixa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faustão Martins couldn't finish the play. After 85 played minutes Brasilia got a freekick which was hit by Betinho Sampaio. Váldson Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jefferson Santos having to interfere. Mário de Moraes came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Brasilia's Carlos Fontes. But to his dismay, Carlos Fontes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronaldão Figueiredo got free with Mário de Moraes in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Brasilia's Wiliam Mota got a free kick in the 98th minute. In the 100th minute, Faustão Martins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Seixa supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Brasilia's performance. The match ended with a win for Brasilia.
